Training for Staff and Faculty

CARE designs and delivers training for staff, including student staff, and faculty who are interested in increasing their knowledge and building skills to effectively respond to disclosures of sexual violence and harassment. 

Topics may include:
  • Impact of trauma on the survivor

  • Core principles of a trauma-informed response

  • Trauma-informed communication and response

  • Making referrals to confidential resources

  • Vicarious trauma or the impact of trauma-exposure

  • Survivor rights and options

  • Responding to disclosures as a Responsible Employee

Training for Response Professionals

CARE also facilitates professional trainings that are designed to provide specialized knowledge and skills to individuals who work with survivors of sexual violence in the course of their job, i.e. law enforcement, medical providers, Title IX investigators, hearing officers and other campus officials, etc.

Topics for professional trainings:
  • Impact of trauma on memory and behavior

  • Trauma-informed interviewing strategies

  • Mandated reporting responsibilities 

  • Survivor rights and options

All training is facilitated by CARE professional staff, and can be offered in-person or remotely.
