Design and Media Coordinator (STDT 4)

The Design and Media Coordinator is a paid student employment opportunity. This position requires US work authorization, and the successful candidate must complete a background check.

Reporting to the CARE Training and Education Specialist, the CARE Design & Media Student Coordinator is responsible for creating and managing digital and print media that supports sexual violence prevention education and outreach efforts. 

Responsibilities Include: 

• Research current social media trends and apply trend-informed strategies to develop content aligned with CARE’s brand, vision, and mission
• Create, design, and schedule engaging social media content across platforms, including posts, stories, and reels
• Design and format monthly or quarterly newsletters for staff, faculty, and administrators, including layout, graphics, and visual storytelling
• Collaborate with education and outreach team to translate programs and events into engaging and accessible visual campaigns

Qualifications Include: 

• Must be a current UC Davis undergraduate student

• Experience in designing posters, flyers, websites, or similar publications

• Experience using software and social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Canva, and Illustrator

• Ability to elicit and understand others' ideas for publication purposes, and to complete work by following these ideas and goals

• Written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and professionally

Prevention Education Intern Program

Prevention Education Interns (PEIs) gain skills in promoting awareness and knowledge of sexual violence, bystander intervention, and social norm change by facilitating educational programs.

Interns are paid a quarterly stipend.

Opportunities Include: 

• Providing sexual violence prevention education to fellow students

• Furthering the mission of CARE by promoting awareness and knowledge of sexual violence prevention, bystander intervention, and social norm change. 

• Representing CARE at outreach events

• Working with CARE student assistants to plan outreach and awareness events

Requirements: 

• Must be a current UC Davis undergraduate student

• Submit an application 

• Attend an interview

• Attend and participate in the required training

• 3-quarter commitment to the CARE program following the training

• Attend weekly meetings; Mondays from 12 - 1 PM

• Facilitate sexual violence prevention workshops and participate in outreach events
